Our Summer at a Glance..

I really have no excuse, so I will not even try. I have become used to posting on Facebook very frequently, so I have gotten out of the habit of posting here.

This summer we have been very busy. Todd and I were able to take 2 trips by ourselves this summer. Once to Austin and one to Las Vegas to Celebrate our 15th Anniversary (that is in 2 days).

We also traveled with the kids to San Antonio where we just camped and had a really great time. We went to Splash town and to Magic Time Machine. We also took a camping trip to Abliene with Todd's mom and dad, my sis and her kids, and Todd's brother and little boy. It was quite an experience where we thought they were shooting an episode of cops in the hotel parking lot next to us! LOL We sat around an read all afternoon while the kids swam and just had fun.

This summer Todd, Kamron and Tyler we able to go on their first camping trip with the Boy Scouts to Tres Ritas in the mountains of New Mexio for a WEEK in a TENT where it rained almost every day! They got to go White Water Rafting one day and had a BLAST!! Addyson and I had a SUPER time that week by ourselves too!

One of the best parts of the summer is our new kitty! We got a new kitty the week the boys went to Tres Ritas and she is probably the most spoiled member of our family. We LOVE her and she has been the best thing at getting Addyson to sleep in her bed!

My garden has done wonderful and we have had quite a few squash, zucchini, green beans, jalapenos, other peppers, TOMATOES, and we are waiting on the cantelope to rippen as well as the carrots. I love my garden and I am looking for ways to improve it next year!

Kamron and Tyler are playing football this year and they look so small in the football pads. They are LOVING it! I am anxious to get a picture of them in their pads to share, but I don't want to seem like an overbearing mother!

Today, 8-10-10, we were all able to witness the pig we loved and showed last year, Babe, give birth to 12 adorable pigs! The kids LOVED it. Kamron loved to help tie and cut the cord, Ty stayed in the background! I think we will be going to the Ferring House daily to check on these adorable little pigglets. They are so cute!!

Here is Todd an I in Vegas at the VERY fun Piano Bar!

4th of July and the Boy Scouts carried the flags in the parade
Kamron, Tyler and I went with the following group of our youth group to "Rock the Dessert" this past weekend in Midland. We were able to see some really great Christian Rock bands! IT was FABULOUS!! I will definately be signing up to be a sponsor again next year. Addyson got to go to Ruidoso with my mom and dad while we were gone while Todd went to his 20 yr reunion.

More Rock the Desert Pictures. We tried to stay under the canopy during the 100 + heat of the day and would walk around during the night time.

Here is our kitty Prissy... she reminds me of the picture of ET where he hides in the stuffed animals!

This is how Prissy sleeps many nights! I could not do it BUT it has kept Addyson in her own bed!! YEA!

The Pigs!! Look how cute they are!!

Addyson LOVES them!!

KAmron even helped tie off the umbilical cord! They were slipperly little guys!

I didn't get one picture of Tyler with the pigs! I will though!

School started for Todd on the 3rd, I go back Monday the 16th and the kids starton the 23rd! The boys will be in Jr High and Addyson will be in 2nd grade! Where are my babies??

Playing catch-up......

I am uploading this for my brother since I don't think anyone else looks at this blog! :) I NEVER have any comments so I decided to give up on blogging, and got in trouble by Dain. So Dain, this is for you! Get on Facebook and you will see the same pictures!! LOVE YA!

A few weeks ago Deborah and I took the kids to Lubbock for a fun day! We went to "Blue Sky" for some sand box fun and wonderful greasy hamburgers. After eating lunch we took the kids to "Dave's Need for Speed" Here is Addyson and Riley, we really are arranging their wedding (they have to survive 1st grade first!) We are having doubts since they are both so strong willed. They may butt heads too bad to be married!

While Addyson and Riley were playing "Lights out Golf" the big boys were waiting in line for Laser Tag. They got the bright idea to take on all these other boys from this birthday party. Any guesses on who won that game??? LOL

Addyson and Riley played on these really cool bumper cars. They didn't jerk you around and they loved them!!

Kamron, Tyler and Jacob next went to the Go Carts!! Smile for the camera guys!!

Turn that hat around Kamron!!

Can you find Ty, Kam and Jacob??

Smile Jacob! Tyler...mom has the camera, THIS WAY!!

After our fun filled 2 hours, we stopped at the inside go cart. We couldn't get Mr Kyle to turn around for the camera, so DAVE himself stepped in to help out!!

The boys turned 11 a few weeks ago. The day of their birthday they went camping with Todd and the other scouts in 60mph winds and blowing dirt! (Sounds like a GREAT birthday doesn't it) The wind even bent out tent poles!! So... a few weeks late we had a few boys over. The kids have "Air Soft" gun wars at the playground. The main rule was everyone had to have protective eye wear! They all got along so good. It is so nice they are at an age to just let them be boys and play. They weren't too happy to pose for this picture, but they may see it in a few years when they are seniors in high school!!
Oh Kyle, I just love him!! Addyson wants him as a baby brother! He is the youngest of three BOYS. He lives, eats and breathes TRACTORS so when he stepped into Addyson's room he was in for a huge surprise. It took him no time to take off his John Deer TRACTOR boots and put on the fancy princess slippers and PINK sunglasses. HE pushed around a stroller with THREE babies all night too! He had a BLAST!!!

We have finally decided to do something with our yard... I know, we have lived in this house for 5 years. Today was the day. Here is the "before" picture of the front of the house.

We have had this "Topsy Turvy" for 3-4 years but I finally decided to do something with it. I have cherry tomatoes in it! Pray it grows!
The kids helped me plant some flowers in these little starters. I hope they grow too!

This is the area that we put our garden in!! I am so excited to have a garden this year. Todd borrowed a tiller and went to work. I am so glad it is just borrowed, he would be dangerous with one of his own!!

Todd at work......

Tyler mowing.....

Addyson sitting.....

Kamron smiling......
So we got the garden area tilled and Todd decided to till up the part of the yard that the grass doesn't grow. You can see the barren areas he is tilling. We got it tilled, fertilized, planted and watered. The boys said it would be a good area to plant sweet corn.......ummmm, I don't think so. I "think" I know someone who may share a few ears of sweet corn with us!
Here is the finished product! I hope in a few weeks I can share pictures of our new little grass growing!!!

The boys had a job of throwing away the tarp that went over the camper, they thought it was the hardest job EVER! Kamron fell in the dumpster while sitting on top! It was so funny!! LOVE ya KAM!!!!!
Addyson posing by her new hide out. She even conned me into giving her some fabric for a blanket to sit on. I think I had a small piece of fabric I could spare for her to use!

This is what the boys did most of the time we were working. Tyler in the fort, hiding from Kamron

Kamron and Addyson in their new fort.
Thankfully there were not too many pictures of me today. AND some of the ones my hubby took while I was bent over planting, will NEVER be anywhere for others to see. I was planting the seeds I bought. We have watermelons, cantaloupe, carrots, green beans, cucumbers, burp less cucumbers, strawberries, zucchini, crooked necked squash, strawberries, jalapenos, sweet cherry peppers, tomatoes, (I think that is all..) YES, all of that is in that small area.

Here are the plants planted, the peppers, squashes, tomatoes and strawberries

See the pepper already on the PLANT!!!!

Here is our newly planted grass area! The kids (and Dog) have been banned from getting anywhere close!
Here are the shrubs in the front yard. We still need our paver stones and our pretty flowers to go in front of the shrubs. This side is FINISHED! Kind of...

The other side of the door will be done tomorrow!

Our 1st Stock Show

Yesterday was the Bailey County Stock show. Here are a few hundred pictures from getting the pigs ready for the show to the sale. We had to clip all the pigs hair. That was a definite experience for us all!

Addyson was "lounging" on Bullseye while he was patiently waiting for his turn in the chute.
Bullseye did good, but calmed down when I talked to him. I am the one that is going to have a very hard time taking them to Klemkies to be processed!!
Any guesses on how MANY times Addyson fell off the hut during the past 3 months??
Poor Babe...she SQUEALED the entire time they were clipping her. She hated it! Addyson did not like hearing her cry like that either!
Finally the show pictures! These are the pens that the pigs were in. You can see Todd in the back with a blue shirt on.
This is the show ring where the kids showed all the different animals
Addyson loving on babe...Sorry I forgot to turn the picture!
We learned that alot of the time at the stock show you wait.... We did lots of waiting! LOL
Addyson and Riley, one day these two....
Last minute instructions from our good friend Sam! We had so many people helping us. There is NO way we could of done this without Sam, Curtis and the Myers family! THANK YOU all so much!!!!!
Here is Tyler showing Bullseye. He received 2nd, Reserved Breed Champion for Bullseye and 2nd place for Babe. We are so proud how both boys did. They loved it!
Here is Kamron showing Stripes. Kamron received 3rd for both Stripes and Sammy. Stripes was in a really tough class so we were ecstatic with 3rd place. The Grand Champion Pig came from that class. Sammy was our pig with a few joint problems and we never expected to get 3rd out of her! She had never been walked until the day of the show and Kamron did wonderful with her! (I was videoing and snapping pictures...sorry the pictures are blurry. Too many things in my hand!)
My boys!!! I think we are hooked on the pig farming! We are already talking about having 6 pigs next year and going to a major show. We had fun this year!!
Thanks Lisa for taking a family picture!! (We dressed the kids this year, next year Todd and I will look like Pig farmers too!)
Addyson and Jessie "patiently" waiting for the pee wee show to start.
Addyson walking Babe in the Pee wee show. 2 more years and she will be out there with pigs of her own. She is ready! She loved it as much as the rest of us.
All the little kids got 1st place ribbons.
Tyler with his Res. Breed Champion trophy for Bullseye.
Kamron with his 2 third place ribbons!
The day after the show they have the sale. Many items are auctioned off and the proceeds go to help the FFA and 4 H kids with their animals. When Tyler was walking Bullseye in the sale, Addyson was able to walk with him and carry his trophy. All 4 of our pigs got in the sale! We were so excited. We were hoping that each boy got one in the sale and they both had 2! FUN FUN!
Here is the picture from the sale
Here is Tyler with Babe
The architect that MISD used for all of their construction "bought" Babe. The money is a donation and the child keeps the animal. Here is Tyler with them. Addyson became friends with her little girl.
The secret to keeping the pig still for pictures was FOOD! I always wondered how they got them to stand so still! LOL
Here is KAmron walking the Stripes in the sale
Picture with Stripes
Mr GQ himself! Check out his PINK shirt! He loved it and so did I! Great choice Kamron!!!
Kamron with his "buyer" Thurman and Sam. Thank you!!!!
I never thought we would enjoy showing pigs like we did. We plan on traveling to Houston during Spring Break this year and visiting Dain and Crissy. While we are there we are going to check out the Houston Stock show and Rodeo!

I will post Christmas Pictures soon, maybe tomorrow! I was too excited about the stock show to post Christmas first!!
