Spring Break... a week in review!

It is Sunday evening and Spring Break is OVER. It is a bitter sweet. The school year will be over in 9 weeks, but we have to get back and finish those to get to the summer, so bitter sweet. We had a great week. After we cleaned the house and the yard, Tuesday we traveled to Amarillo for the day. Our first stop was Palo Dura Canyon. We just drove through and spent about an hour there. We will be returning in April for a weekend camping trip! Here is Addyson looking through the binoculars at the canyon.
Kamron, Addyson and Tyler
Mr. Tyler

While we were driving through the canyon there were many deer on the side of the road. This deer was "talking" to Todd. LOL
After we left Palo Duro we went into Amarill for lunch. Our plan was to go to Coyote Bluff for some lunch. Take a look, it is a HOLE IN THE WALL place that was featured on Diners, Drive In's and Dives on the Food Channel. We were excited to eat there (well I was until I saw the building) and it was PACKED at 11:30. We had whiney, hungary kids (and adults) so we skipped out but will definately have to try again!

We made it to an awesome place after lunch called Jump-n-Jive. It was so neat! It is an old Dunlaps building that has 15 + jump houses that the kids had a BLAST. We were there for 5 hours that day. Todd did take a few pictures of me in the Jump houses, but they didn't turn out, oops! LOL

Tyler sliding down the HUGE slide. I didn't attempt the slide this time. Past memories of taking down about 10 kids behind me rang in my ears.

Kamron on the slide

Addyson posing for me.

I played alot in this one with Addyson. It isn't enclosed!! LOL

This was a running bungee jusp thing. The kids LOVED it!!

The kids LOVED this obstical coarse. It was not my favorite. It was a little hard for this momma!

Wednesday we were outside and Todd flagged down the Schwan truck for some Sundae cones. Addyson sat next to Todd and just talked. LOVE this picture!!!

Mom, this is the laundary basket we got for Christmas. The kids FIGHT over who gets to sit in it. (The boys birthday is Thursday, hint, hint!! We need 2 more!!)

I finally sewed again on Wednesday. I am still in the process of RE-READING all the Twilight books and have 200 pages left on the last book, SO I need to start sewing again. Anyway, this is what I made. Addyson wore it on Thursday while we went to Lubbock. I got my hair highlighted and the kids went to a movie with Todd. Be prepared for the next time you see me! I am SUPER BLONDE. I should post a picture but I am still a little self conscious. I better get over it since school starts again tomorrow!! LOL

On Saturday, uncle Cory, aunt Tina and Nicholas all came to Muleshoe with Nana and Grandear. The kids made Nicholas a marshmellow shooter like their's and they were anxiously awaiting them to walk through the door to pelt them with nerf bullets! No one was safe on Saturday!!

Addyson LOVES Tina! Tina read numerous books to Addyson while we were at Nana's. Tina is about 29 weeks pregnant with a little GIRL. Addyson is going to have another girl to play with! This is going to be one spoiled little girl!! We are all so excited for her to get here! (Sorry the picture is dark!)

These next photo's are our little "Photo shoot" in the trees!

BACK TO REALITY!! The boys birthday is Thursday. They will be 10. I can't believe it! It seems like only yesterday they were my teeny tiny 2 pound babies. Have a great week!

Is it Spring OR Summer???

Spring Break is here! We are not planning on doing much, getting the house clean and cleaning the yard were our top priorities but we got those done yesterday and today. Now we can have some FUN! After cleaning the yard today, Todd was fixing sprinkler heads. I was cooking supper and heard the kids screaming, this is what I found:

Kamron was taken by suprise when the water hit him in the chest. It was about 75 degrees today, but not really "sprinkler" weather!
I Love this picture of Tyler! He saw the water on it's way. Notice the jeans he is wearing. I had to peel them off of him. LOL
The three amigos! They played so well together today. We were at the playground before the water activites and Kamron was burying Addyson in the rocks! She was SO quiet, which is not like her, and when I asked her what they were doing, she told me she was "Playing DEAD".
The "Blue and Gold" Banquet for scouts was on Friday night, 3 days ago in 3 inches of SNOW! Crazy West Texas weather will you have SNOW and 3 days later the kids are playing in the Sprinklers! LOL Anyway, Todd was in charge this year and he did a really good job. There was over 100 people there. I think it turned out awesome!! The boys are both 2nd year Webelo's now and get to start camping with the Boy Scouts. Next year will be big when they cross over from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. Here is a Picture of Kamron "barking" the commands for the flag ceremony. Tyler was in the back carrying the US flag. I did not get many good pictures because I was too busy videoing. I got a new video camera for my birthday and was enjoying it!
Here is Kamron's cake for the cake baking contest. It was a Nintendo Game Cube. It was really good too! Martha, do you think you have some competetion in the family! LOL

Here is Tyler's cake. We even got a new large pizza box to put it in. The rules state there is NO female help at all. That is really hard for me to do, but I stay out! I wouldn't even go check the cakes as they were baking to make sure they were done. Tyler did a fantastic job putting the "Sauce" on the pizza to make it look like it was really a pizza. Todd and Ty mixed cherry JELLO with store bought buttercream icing to get the red color (Martha, I know you are cringing at the thought). Suprisingly, it tasted really good. They grated white chocolate almond bark for the cheese and made red fondant for the pepperoni's. IT was YUM! They didn't win a prize this year but they did awesome. My friend Deborah's son Jacob, won the grand prize! They made a popcorn bowl that was over flowing with popcorn. IT was AWESOME!! She is vacationing right now, but check back, I know she will have pictures of the cake on her blog.

We are heading to Amarillo tomorrow for some Spring break fun. Enjoy the sun, I am sure it isn't going to last!

This and that...

I know, I promised to post more often, and it just didn't happen. The springtime is so busy I will make no more promises! The boys had their Lock in last weekend for Scouts. They had a blast! I honestly think the parents had just as much fun as the kids. They stayed at the cafeteria at Todd's school. They made marshmellow shooters, played with a parachute, had scooter races, etc. They had a blast! Here are a few pictures:

Unfortunally the pictures uploaded in reverse order. So here is the end of the night where the kids all relaxed and ate popcorn while watching Clone Wars. The lock in ended at 2 am!
After all the Marshmellow shooters were made, here they all are! Todd, myself and the 3 kids had to SCRUB the floor the next day to get all the THOUSANDS of stepped on marshmellows off the floor.

Scooter races! Even the parents rode on them. Most of my pictures of the adults on the scooters came out blurry, it was probably because they were going in lightening SPEED!! LOL

Here is Tyler on the scooters!

Todd shooting his Gun. The boys mentioned on Sunday that they needed to have a lock in every Saturday!

Tyler decorating his gun

Kamron with his bag of ammo!

Here is the assembly line of kids making the marshmellow shooters. They really were a HUGE hit!

This was all the kids at the beginning of the lock in. I think this picture is going to the local paper.

Tyler just LOVES Kyle!! On a funny side thought, Kay, Todd's mom dreamt last week that we had another set of twins, boy girl this time! Didn't think much of it, we all laughed it off. Friday I got an email from my mom saying that she dreamt that I had TRIPLETS..all boys! Todd and I have laughed at it, I think the kids were HORRIFIED when I told them! I don't know WHY the boys wouldn't want 3 more of their little sister!! LOL

Todd in the parachute. Remember the pictures uploaded backward, so this should of been the last in the sequence!

Todd being wound up. All the kids were placed in the middle of the parachute 2 at a time and spun!

Here is my little fashion model yesterday. She obviously dressed herself. It was so funny when I asked her about her outfit she told me that her socks were green and matched her shirt and her pink shoes matched her pants!!
Uncle Dain and Crissy, THANK YOU so much for the AWESOME basketball shoes!! The boys LOVE them!!! They have been on clound 9 since they arrived in the mail! Thank you again!!!
You are the best!

Be patient, the next few weeks are really busy! Say lost of prayers on Tuesday. All students in the state of Texas will be taking the first of the standard tests. TAKS is stressful on everyone, so when you wake up on Tuesday morning, say a quick prayer for all of those taking and giving the test! Thanks!

So sorry!

I have been the bad blogger lately. I got wrapped up in reading and have read about 2000 pages in a week. It is all Tamora's fault! Anyway... not much going on here. The boys have started basketball and have their first game on Thursday. They are enjoying it! They also had to make volcano's for school and did a SUPER job! Everyone is well (knocking on wood) and I hope it stays that way! We babysat my mom and dad's dog this last weekend while they traveled to Santa Fe, NM to celebrate their 39th wedding anniversary! What a blessing they are to all of us.

I promise I will have pictures of the kids the next time I post! The boys are having a "Lock in" at the school for scouts on Saturday. I will have lots of pictures!

This week is OVER!

I am really glad that this week is over. We are ready to start new! All 3 kids have been really sick and I am counting my blessings that Todd and I have not gotten it.

Addyson got sick last Friday and Kamron followed suit on Tuesday with Strep throat. I won the "Worst mom of the Year award" on Wednesday when I allowed Kamron to go to school because he didn't want to lose Perfect Attendance. He felt HORRIBLE all day but didn't come see me because he said I told him not to. I didn't. His temp was 102 that night. There is more to the story, but I won't go into that! LOL Kamron stayed home Thursday from school, no questions asked! Wednesday morning Tyler started complaining of not felling well and our WONDERFUL pediatrician called Tyler in an antibodic also. He was on it for more than 48 hours when he got a 101.5 fever at school after having LOTS of motrin. Todd was tagged and ran Tyler to Lubbock where he has a strain of the flu and we are not really sure if he ever had strep or if he was getting the virus on Wednesday. Last night about 7pm our peditrician called me at home to check on the kids. You just don't find doctors like that anymore. Ty did wake up with a fever this morning again but feels so much better tonight!

I am glad this week is over and I really hope that things start looking up in the Newberry house. I have no pictures to share this time, they would not be pretty! Lots of pale faces with red noses and dark circles under their eyes!

I have a special prayer request for a lady named Michelle. She is pregnant with miracle twins after surviving ovarian cancer herself. She is 24 weeks and in the hospital in preterm labor. As of the moment they have stopped the contractions with medicine, but she needs to keep these babies in for at least 6 more weeks. PLEASE pray for these precious babies that are so wanted by this special family.

100th Day of School

The 100th Day of School is a big deal in the primary grades (PK-2). This past Friday was Muleshoe's 100th day. Addyson had been looking forward to it for weeks. It is a fun party day filled with hundred's of activities. One of the activities was to come dressed representing anything 100. You can dress 100 years old, put 100 of any item on a shirt, ect. Addyson was going to go dressed like they did 100 years ago. My friend Deborah's mother had a dress that she wore when she was around Addyson's age. Her mother made the dress and it came with a pettiskirt, parisol, and bonnet. It was beautiful! Addyson, my girlie girl, LOVED IT!

Thursday night before bed Addyson became really cranky and just not herself. She was running a 102 fever! I felt so bad because I knew she would miss her 100th day of school. We went to Lubbock Friday where she was negative for flu and strep, but her 02 sats were only in the 80's. They did a breathing treatment and started her on steroids. All day Friday she ran a fever, but is good as new today! Last night after her bath I dressed her in the outfit she was going to wear to school on Friday. She looked so cute! Here is my own "Laura Ingles".
